D\u00e8s 1635, la construction du Fort Amsterdam d\u00e9bute sur la rive orientale de la baie Sint Anna. \u00c9difi\u00e9 en pierre de corail avec des murs atteignant trois m\u00e8tres d\u2019\u00e9paisseur, il devient le si\u00e8ge de la Compagnie n\u00e9erlandaise des Indes occidentales. Aujourd\u2019hui encore, il abrite le si\u00e8ge du gouvernement de Cura\u00e7ao.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c483b77 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c483b77\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><b>Les quatre quartiers historiques<\/b><\/h3><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ovpm.org\/fr\/ville\/willemstad-curacao\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Willemstad<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> s\u2019articule autour de quatre quartiers qui retracent trois si\u00e8cles d\u2019\u00e9volution urbaine. Punda, le plus ancien, fut \u00e9difi\u00e9 au XVIIe si\u00e8cle selon les principes d\u2019urbanisme n\u00e9erlandais, avec ses rues \u00e9troites et ses maisons \u00e0 pignons triangulaires. La tradition populaire raconte que cette d\u00e9cision visait aussi \u00e0 soulager ses migraines, mais cette explication reste du domaine de la l\u00e9gende. Cette mesure donna naissance \u00e0 la palette color\u00e9e qui fait aujourd\u2019hui la renomm\u00e9e de <\/span>Willemstad<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> : rouges profonds, ocres lumineux, bleus et verts vari\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-858774f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"858774f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><b>Un kal\u00e9idoscope architectural carib\u00e9en<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus de 700 b\u00e2timents historiques prot\u00e9g\u00e9s, soit environ la moiti\u00e9 du centre-ville, composent le paysage urbain. Surnomm\u00e9 la \u00ab Swinging Old Lady \u00bb, il pivote lat\u00e9ralement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 deux moteurs diesel et des h\u00e9lices perpendiculaires pour laisser passer les navires. Ce chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie reste un symbole fort de <\/span>Willemstad<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ec14284 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ec14284\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><b>La Handelskade, vitrine du patrimoine mondial<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le front de mer de Punda, la Handelskade, aligne une s\u00e9rie de b\u00e2timents color\u00e9s du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle, comparables aux maisons de canal d\u2019Amsterdam mais sous les latitudes tropicales.
