La photographie de ce moment, aujourd\u2019hui conserv\u00e9e au Rijksmuseum, devient cent trente ans plus tard le point de d\u00e9part d\u2019<\/span><b><i>Affiba \u2014 The Eldest Woman of Paramaribo<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, le nouveau documentaire d\u2019Ida Does. \u00c0 travers cette histoire, la r\u00e9alisatrice surinamaise-carib\u00e9enne poursuit un travail constant : regarder les archives autrement et faire revenir au premier plan des vies longtemps rest\u00e9es en marge. Le Rijksmuseum date la sc\u00e8ne du 31 ao\u00fbt 1896 et indique qu\u2019Affiba \u00e9tait alors consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme la femme la plus \u00e2g\u00e9e de Paramaribo. Le photographe Th\u00e9odore van Lelyveld avait not\u00e9 qu\u2019elle avait 104 ans ; \u00e0 sa mort, quelques mois plus tard, un journal colonial estimait qu\u2019elle avait atteint au moins 105 ans.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5316b08 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5316b08\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus d\u2019un si\u00e8cle apr\u00e8s cette image, Joan Windzak entreprend de retrouver l\u2019histoire de sa famille. Ses recherches la ram\u00e8nent vers Affiba, son a\u00efeule n\u00e9e dans l\u2019esclavage, devenue libre. Ida Does d\u00e9cide d\u2019accompagner cette qu\u00eate par le cin\u00e9ma. Son travail explore l\u2019histoire coloniale, l\u2019art, la culture, la justice sociale et les trajectoires de figures carib\u00e9ennes. L\u2019important, chez elle, n\u2019est pas seulement le sujet choisi, mais la mani\u00e8re de d\u00e9placer le regard vers celles et ceux que les r\u00e9cits dominants ont trop peu entendus.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5443f3a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5443f3a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En avril 2026, dans un entretien avec NPO Doc, elle expliquait rechercher dans ses films des personnes capables d\u2019apporter de l\u2019espoir et d\u2019agir pour le changement. Cette volont\u00e9 traverse une \u0153uvre qui ne se contente pas d\u2019exposer les blessures du pass\u00e9.
