Certains viennent r\u00e9parer un gr\u00e9ement, d&#8217;autres s&#8217;amarrer pour la saison. Le d\u00e9cor n&#8217;a presque pas chang\u00e9, m\u00eames quais de pierre, m\u00eames entrep\u00f4ts g\u00e9orgiens aux toits de bardeaux.\u00a0<strong>Nelson&#8217;s Dockyard<\/strong> n&#8217;est pas un mus\u00e9e fig\u00e9 dans le temps. Sa forme resserr\u00e9e offre un abri naturel contre les ouragans, et sa position sur le flanc sud d&#8217;Antigua permettait de surveiller les mouvements des flottes rivales dans les \u00eeles voisines. C&#8217;est dans cette baie que\u00a0<strong>le chantier<\/strong> allait progressivement prendre forme, au service de la Marine royale 25 septembre 1725, l&#8217;Assembl\u00e9e d&#8217;Antigua a vot\u00e9 la loi c\u00e9dant ce terrain \u00e0 la Royal Navy. Les planteurs de canne \u00e0 sucre de l&#8217;\u00eele esp\u00e9raient qu&#8217;en \u00e9change, la Marine investirait davantage dans la protection du commerce local. Pendant pr\u00e8s de vingt ans, elle n&#8217;a presque rien construit sur le site. La construction <strong>du chantier<\/strong> a mobilis\u00e9 des Africains r\u00e9duits en esclavage, envoy\u00e9s par les plantations voisines. Selon les autorit\u00e9s patrimoniales d&#8217;Antigua, plus de 75% de la main-d&#8217;\u0153uvre du chantier \u00e9tait compos\u00e9e d&#8217;hommes r\u00e9duits en esclavage, qui travaillaient comme
