Le chercheur William Wilson en publie la premi\u00e8re mesure scientifique pr\u00e9cise en 1994, dans le Bahamas Journal of Science, 202 m\u00e8tres de profondeur. Le calcaire poreux qui compose l&#8217;ensemble des Bahamas explique la concentration exceptionnelle de <a href=\"https:\/\/richeskarayib.com\/fr\/andros-178-trous-bleus-162-km%c2%b2-proteges\/\">gouffres marins de ce type dans l&#8217;archipel<\/a>, un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne rare ailleurs dans le R\u00e9serv\u00e9e aux athl\u00e8tes invit\u00e9s, elle a depuis accueilli plusieurs records du monde, dont celui de la Britannique Sara Campbell en 2009. Le Fran\u00e7ais Arnaud Jerald y a \u00e9tabli un nouveau record du monde en poids constant bi-palmes, \u00e0 126 m\u00e8tres, tandis que la Slov\u00e8ne Alenka Artnik a \u00e9gal\u00e9 la meilleure performance f\u00e9minine de la discipline, \u00e0 123 m\u00e8tres. Dix-sept ans apr\u00e8s sa cr\u00e9ation, Dean&#8217;s Blue Hole continue donc, chaque \u00e9t\u00e9, de faire descendre un peu plus loin la limite du corps humain en Cette pr\u00e9cision, rare dans un secteur qui pr\u00e9f\u00e8re souvent le superlatif \u00e0 l&#8217;exactitude, dit quelque chose du site lui-m\u00eame, sa valeur ne tient pas \u00e0 un classement,
