As Anguilla gears up to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its renowned Summer Festival, the island is abuzz with excitement and anticipation. Scheduled from July 21 to August 11, 2024, this year’s festival promises to be an extraordinary celebration of culture, heritage, and community under the theme “The Family Reunion”​.

A Rich Legacy

The Anguilla Summer Festival has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the Caribbean’s most vibrant and anticipated events. This year, a special “50 For 50” video series will pay tribute to the individuals and entities that have shaped the festival’s rich history. Each day leading up to the end of the festival, two videos will premiere, highlighting the contributions of key figures who have left an indelible mark on this cultural extravaganza​ (Anguilla Summer Festival)​.

The festival’s packed schedule ensures that there is something for everyone. Here are some of the must-attend events:

  • J’ouvert Morning (August 5, 2024): The festivities kick off with a pre-dawn parade filled with music, dancing, and revelry, culminating in an all-day beach party at Sandy Ground​.

  • August Monday Celebrations (August 5, 2024): Emancipation Day, also known as August Monday, features the iconic August Monday Boat Race, live music, and vibrant beach parties​.

  • Miss Anguilla Pageant (August 7, 2024): This event showcases the beauty, talent, and intelligence of Anguilla’s young women. The pageant will celebrate past winners and crown a new Miss Anguilla​​.

  • Grand Parade of Troupes (August 9, 2024): This colorful procession in The Valley features elaborately costumed dancers representing different villages, competing for the title of Best Troupe​​.

From December 5, 2026, to April 4, 2027, the MSC World Europa will come alive to the rhythms of Caribbean music with the Zouk@Sea by MSC festival.
