FRENCH GUIANA

The long-awaited for the Lindor, ceremony that is highlighting the french Guiana’s music took place this year at Le Zéphyr on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Now in its 18th year, the event, organized by MEGAMAZONIE, highlighted the exceptional talent of Guyana’s artists, rewarding the best musical performances of the year.

Highlights of the evening

The evening was marked by memorable performances by a number of popular artists. Among them, T2I, Fanny J, Lesly, Alt Blaq, Craazy et Wah Waah and Lizi & Jahnyk stood out, each bringing their own unique style to the stage and capturing the very essence of Guyanese music.

Lindor 2024 Winners

Awards were presented in several categories, honoring artists for their outstanding contributions to local music. This recognition is not only an encouragement for established artists, but also a motivation for new talent to pursue their passion and enrich Guyanese musical culture.

  • Best zouk and/or compas single from French Guiana: Fanny J & Nesly – Cordialement
  • Best single for traditional and/or traditionally inspired music: Vanessa Lindor – Ambyans lakaz
  • Best traditional and/or traditionally inspired music album and/or EP: Régine Lapassion – Orijin
  • Best Lagwiyann jazz album and/or EP: Cannelle – Kouté mo
  • Best Lagwiyann reggae single: Patko – Problem
  • Best Guyanese urban music single: Venssy – Bless mo life
  • Best Guyanese urban music album and/or EP: Venssy – Prophecy
  • Best beatmaker: Fside
  • Best composer (two ex-aequo): Jahyanaï King and Louis Caristan
  • Best author: Lowee

Song of the Year

The Lindor for song of the year went to Fanny J and Nesly for their track “Cordialement”.

They wanted to share this title with artist T2I, whose exceptional performance and remarkable staging deeply impressed them.

His performance delighted the audience, highlighting the power of his lyrics and the impact of his show.

The Cultural Impact of the Event

Lindor 2024 also highlighted the importance of music in Guyanese culture, serving as a platform to promote musical diversity and encourage cultural exchange.

The event attracted a large audience, bringing together music lovers, industry professionals and Guyanese culture enthusiasts.

Air Adelphi: new Caribbean air service

Air Adelphi has launched a new service linking Martinique to Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent, starting December 11, 2024. This new air service represents a significant step forward for regional connectivity in the Caribbean.
