On June 2, 2025, in Punta Cana, a discreet but strategic event marked a turning point for real estate development in the Dominican Republic: the official launch of TAMAN, a luxury residential project led by Haitian entrepreneur Marcus Boereau.
Haitian entrepreneur builds bridges in the Caribbean
A native of Port-au-Prince, Marcus Boereau embodies a new generation of Caribbean leaders. A polyglot with a degree in economics from Shanghai University, he also holds two masters degrees – one in international business, the other in project management. As head of IMAR Ventures, a company specializing in cross-border investment, he has established himself as a leading figure in economic exchanges between Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Latin America.
In particular, he became the first Haitian to appear on the cover of the Latin American magazine Factor de Éxito which recognizes the continent’s most influential decision-makers. With TAMAN, he not only adds a new line to his list of achievements, but also lays the cornerstone for a long-term project to transform the eastern Dominican Republic.
TAMAN: a $30 million vision for La Rinconada
Located on the Boulevard Turístico del Este, TAMAN is the very first residential project in La Rinconada to have begun construction after obtaining all regulatory approvals. This rigorous compliance with the administrative framework was praised by Marcus Boereau himself:
“Although the permitting process may seem lengthy, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the seriousness of the authorities.”
With an estimated budget of $30 million, TAMAN is designed as a prestige residence inspired by Balinese architecture. The project will comprise 144 high-end apartments, designed to combine well-being, sustainability and refined design. The emphasis is on integration into the natural landscape, harmonious architectural lines and quality materials.
Strong partners for flawless performance
For this project, Marcus Boereau relied on Dominican expertise. Construction was entrusted to Verges & Asociados (VAC), a benchmark company with over twenty years’ experience. Technical supervision is provided by ASPECT, while a national insurer covers all site-related risks.
This triple alliance of technical, legal and financial expertise guarantees rigorous and secure execution. It reflects Boereau’s philosophy of combining local excellence with international standards.
Immersive experiences for future residents
TAMAN is not just about building a real estate complex. Right from the construction phase, the project comes alive with private, immersive events for investors, partners and future residents. Guided tours, themed presentations and discussions with the teams allow everyone to follow the site’s evolution and gradually become part of the TAMAN universe.
This attention to human relations and transparency has become a hallmark of the project, reinforcing trust in a market often perceived as opaque.
A future international hotel operator in the sights
To enhance the value of the property and guarantee a sustainable return for purchasers, Marcus Boereau plans to entrust management of the complex to a leading international hotel group. The name has not yet been revealed, but the announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
This reflects a hybrid strategy: TAMAN is both an upscale residence and a structured investment product, driven by a sustainable growth dynamic in a region with strong potential.
La Rinconada: an area in the throes of change
Unknown to the general public just a few years ago, La Rinconada area is now at the heart of Punta Cana’s ambitions. With its proximity to beaches, major highways and tax incentives under the CONFOTUR law, the area is poised to become a new residential hub.
The CONFOTUR law, in particular, attracts capital thanks to 15-year tax exemptions, a significant advantage for both foreign and local investors. TAMAN is one of the first projects to benefit fully from this scheme, combining profitability, legal certainty and strategic positioning.
A project in the image of its founder
“This isn’t just another project; it’s a demonstration of our faith in Punta Cana’s development and its incredible potential.”
These words from Marcus Boereau, spoken at the symbolic laying of the foundation stone on June 2, 2025, sum up the ambition that drives TAMAN. It’s not just about building homes, it’s about building a living environment, a vision and a legacy.
Marcus Boereau’s exacting standards, audacity and ability to unite talents from both sides of the border have made TAMAN an emblematic project of the new Caribbean: a Caribbean where Haitian innovation meets Dominican rigor, in the service of a more integrated, ambitious and resolutely forward-looking development.
