FĂȘte de la musique 2025 : Why not sing in Saint Lucia?

FĂȘte de la musique 2025

“Et si tu chantais Ă  Sainte-Lucie pour la fĂȘte de la musique 2025 ” (What if you sing in Saint Lucia for the 2025 music festival?) is the name of an innovative cultural project designed to strengthen artistic cooperation in the Caribbean. This slogan, which has become the official name of the program, invites young talent from Martinique to experience a regional musical adventure, through an unprecedented springboard between Schoelcher and Castries. Imagine: you, a young singer, guitar in hand, boarding the Capo Rosso to rock the Saint Lucia stage at the biggest musical event of the year.

A Caribbean dynamic supported by the FĂȘte de la Musique 2025

A pilot cooperation project

“Et si tu chantais Ă  Sainte-Lucie pour la fĂȘte de la musique 2025 ” is much more than a simple invitation. It’s a structuring project between Martinique and Saint Lucia, designed to strengthen the circulation of talent and the region’s cultural roots. The fĂȘte de la musique 2025 becomes a strategic framework for developing sustainable artistic exchanges, with a particular focus on young solo artists aged 18 to 28.

A musical springboard for young people

This project invites Martinican artists to take part in a three-stage process:

  • Phase 1: Call for entries until May 22, 2025. Send two singing videos (composition or cover version, in French or Creole) to co*@***lu.org.
  • Phase 2: live selection on May 28 at 8:30pm at the ArObase (Schoelcher), during the Ka FĂš Show, an emblematic open stage.
  • Phase 3: Performance of the winner in Castries on June 21, for the FĂȘte de la Musique 2025, in the gardens of the Alliance Française de Sainte-Lucie.

Organizers with roots in the Caribbean

SIREZ, revealing talent

Founded in Fort-de-France in 2020, Les SIREZ promotes emerging artistic expression through collaborative projects between amateur and professional musicians. Following on from the success of the MizikLab springboard, they are carrying out this new project with the aim of spreading Martinique’s culture throughout the region.

Alliance Française de Sainte-Lucie, a bridge between the islands

Established in Castries since 1953, the Alliance Française de Sainte-Lucie is a key player in the French-speaking Caribbean. It regularly initiates cultural cooperation projects between France and the Caribbean islands, through events, language training and certification.

A long-term vision

“Et si tu chantais Ă  Sainte-Lucie pour la fĂȘte de la musique 2025” is part of a sustainable approach. This springboard aims to multiply residencies, regional co-productions and collaborations between artists from the islands, while anchoring the fĂȘte de la musique in a coherent cultural project on a Caribbean scale.

A springboard for young people

Beyond the stage, this project represents a training and structuring experience for young artists. Performing in Saint Lucia in a professional context, sharing the stage with musicians from other territories, exchanging experiences, also means learning how to build a career while reinforcing a Caribbean artistic identity.

“Et si tu chantais Ă  Sainte-Lucie pour la fĂȘte de la musique 2025” is a pioneering initiative. It links institutions, territories and young people through music, while opening up a whole new field of expression for Martinican artists. At a time when the Caribbean is rethinking its cooperation, the FĂȘte de la Musique 2025 is a catalyst for boldness, creativity and lasting ties.

Philippe Faure-Brac at Habitation Clément: Martinique rum as seen by a great sommelier.

Philippe Faure-Brac had never visited Habitation ClĂ©ment before. World’s Best Sommelier 1992, member of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France with honorary status since 2015, he came to Martinique to look at rhum agricole from its very place of production: the cane, the cellars, the bottling and the tasting. A first visit to Habitation ClĂ©ment AtHabitation ClĂ©ment, in Le François, this visit had a special significance. Philippe Faure-Brac was already familiar with ClĂ©ment rums, their quality positioning and their universe. He had also contributed to the book Rhum ClĂ©ment, une histoire de famille, bringing his insight into the house’s aromatic precision, balance and tradition of excellence. But he lacked the experience of the place. That of the light, the temperature, the atmosphere of the winery and the exchanges with the teams. “The first time in Martinique? I was going to say finally,” he confided, recalling that he had been hoping for

Boiling Lake: 92 °C, 63 m wide, the 2nd largest bubbling lake in the world

Just 8 kilometers east of Roseau, the capital of Dominica, it’s a three-hour walk from Laudat to Boiling Lake. Three hours of humid forest, desolate valley, soil-heated rocks and sulfurous fumes. At the end of the path, a 63-metre-wide pool. Inside, the water bubbles almost continuously, with temperatures measured up to 91.6°C at the edges. It’s the second largest bubbling lake in the world. A rare phenomenon in a UNESCO park The world’s first is Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand’s Waimangu Valley. But the Dominican Boiling Lake is in a class of its own. Firstly, because it can only be reached on foot, after a demanding hike. Secondly, because it is part of a national park that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997: Morne Trois Pitons National Park. This makes it one of the most singular geothermal phenomena protected in a world-renowned natural site. A flooded,

Tourism 3.0: Jamaica wants to keep its tourist wealth

At the Montego Bay Convention Centre, the image speaks for itself. Local entrepreneurs showcase their products, hotel representatives circulate, meetings follow one another. Behind these rapid exchanges, one question weighs heavily: when tourism makes money, how much really stays in Jamaica? This is at the heart of Tourism 3.0, the new direction championed by Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett. At the Tourism Enhancement Fund’s 11th Speed Networking Event, he set out a clear ambition: to make tourism a more direct driver for Jamaican producers, artisans, manufacturers and suppliers. Tourism that no longer just wants to attract Jamaica knows how to welcome visitors. But the challenge is no longer just to fill hotels or increase arrivals. The real challenge is to retain more value in the territory. Edmund Bartlett has recognized a structural weakness: a large proportion of the goods and services consumed by the tourism industry are still imported.
