The start of an adventure on Creole soil

Ahead of the big night scheduled for December 6, 2025 at the Zénith in Amiens, the 30 Miss France 2026 candidates began their preparations in Martinique. Departing Paris-Orly on November 9 aboard Corsair, official partner of the event, they landed in Fort-de-France in a festive and colorful atmosphere.
Drums, dances and carnival rhythms accompanied their arrival at Aimé-Césaire airport, where an enthusiastic audience and cameras awaited them to immortalize this first stage of the competition.
This preparatory trip marks the official launch of Miss France 2026 and puts Martinique at the center of the national stage.

Martinique, a cultural showcase and strategic asset

The choice of Martinique for this preparatory visit was no accident. This overseas territory offers an exceptional setting and valuable visibility, both for the candidates and for the island.
The Miss France committee wanted to combine this 2026 edition with a complete cultural immersion: Creole gastronomy, traditions, language and local heritage are all on the program.
The President of the Martinique Tourism Board hailed “a high point for the destination”, recalling that Martinique had given the country its very first Miss France from overseas, Angélique Angarni-Filopon, in 2024 – 2025.

A demanding program for the 30 finalists

This week in Martinique has nothing to do with relaxation. The 30 Miss France 2026 finalists follow a precise schedule: photo shoots, training parades, speaking workshops, and the dreaded general knowledge test.
Some Miss France 2026 candidates, like Miss Burgundy or Miss Alsace, are experiencing their first long-haul trip. Others, already at ease in front of the cameras, stand out for their organizational skills and discipline.
The production teams filmed on the beaches and in the region’s emblematic sites, transforming the holiday into a veritable showcase for Martinique.

Beauty queens as mentors

Miss France 2026 ‘s journey is guided by three emblematic figures:

  • Angélique Angarni-Filopon, Miss France 2025 and a native of Martinique, accompanies the candidates throughout their stay;
  • – Clémence Botino, Miss France 2020, supervises the fashion show sessions and shares her stage tips;
  • – Amandine Petit, Miss France 2021, leads the self-confidence and communication workshops.

All three embody the values of transmission and excellence: rigor, elegance and solidarity. Their presence gives this edition of Miss France 2026 a human and educational dimension that goes beyond the simple beauty contest.

A direct impact on the region's image

Welcoming the 30 candidates to Martinique is much more than a media event. It’s a large-scale operation to promote culture and tourism.
Images of the carnival arrival, natural landscapes and footage shot on Martinique’s beaches are already circulating on social networks and in national newspapers.
With the high tourist season just weeks away, the island is enjoying an exceptional showcase for its heritage, gastronomy and hospitality.
For local players, this stage of the competition is a unique opportunity to show the richness of Martinique’s identity beyond clichés.

Countdown to the election

After this Caribbean week, the candidates will head for Paris to finalize their preparations for the big night on December 6, 2025 at the Zénith in Amiens.
The election of Miss France 2026 promises to be demanding and inspiring: a modernized competition where culture, personality and benevolence now occupy as much space as beauty.
In Martinique, the adventure has already taken on the air of a national celebration. Under the Creole sun, the 30 candidates are preparing to write a new page in the history of the competition.

Philippe Faure-Brac at Habitation Clément: Martinique rum as seen by a great sommelier.

Philippe Faure-Brac had never visited Habitation Clément before. World’s Best Sommelier 1992, member of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France with honorary status since 2015, he came to Martinique to look at rhum agricole from its very place of production: the cane, the cellars, the bottling and the tasting. A first visit to Habitation Clément AtHabitation Clément, in Le François, this visit had a special significance. Philippe Faure-Brac was already familiar with Clément rums, their quality positioning and their universe. He had also contributed to the book Rhum Clément, une histoire de famille, bringing his insight into the house’s aromatic precision, balance and tradition of excellence. But he lacked the experience of the place. That of the light, the temperature, the atmosphere of the winery and the exchanges with the teams. “The first time in Martinique? I was going to say finally,” he confided, recalling that he had been hoping for

Boiling Lake: 92 °C, 63 m wide, the 2nd largest bubbling lake in the world

Just 8 kilometers east of Roseau, the capital of Dominica, it’s a three-hour walk from Laudat to Boiling Lake. Three hours of humid forest, desolate valley, soil-heated rocks and sulfurous fumes. At the end of the path, a 63-metre-wide pool. Inside, the water bubbles almost continuously, with temperatures measured up to 91.6°C at the edges. It’s the second largest bubbling lake in the world. A rare phenomenon in a UNESCO park The world’s first is Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand’s Waimangu Valley. But the Dominican Boiling Lake is in a class of its own. Firstly, because it can only be reached on foot, after a demanding hike. Secondly, because it is part of a national park that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997: Morne Trois Pitons National Park. This makes it one of the most singular geothermal phenomena protected in a world-renowned natural site. A flooded,

Tourism 3.0: Jamaica wants to keep its tourist wealth

At the Montego Bay Convention Centre, the image speaks for itself. Local entrepreneurs showcase their products, hotel representatives circulate, meetings follow one another. Behind these rapid exchanges, one question weighs heavily: when tourism makes money, how much really stays in Jamaica? This is at the heart of Tourism 3.0, the new direction championed by Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett. At the Tourism Enhancement Fund’s 11th Speed Networking Event, he set out a clear ambition: to make tourism a more direct driver for Jamaican producers, artisans, manufacturers and suppliers. Tourism that no longer just wants to attract Jamaica knows how to welcome visitors. But the challenge is no longer just to fill hotels or increase arrivals. The real challenge is to retain more value in the territory. Edmund Bartlett has recognized a structural weakness: a large proportion of the goods and services consumed by the tourism industry are still imported.
